Our Ethos

We believe that given the right access and opportunity, every individual will realize their true potential. Since our establishment in 2016, we have worked with the underserved community in Beladin, Sarawak to enhance their economic capacity. We have trained 60 women, to date, in sewing and tailoring, built the Beladin Fashion Center and source clothing contracts for them.

As of 2019, we have also worked with the underserved women and girls from the YWCA Vocational Training Opportunity Center (VTOC), training them real-life skills to prepare their graduates to become entrepreneurs and/or join the workforce. The underserved community of Beladin and the sewing and tailoring graduates of YWCA are the pioneer communities on the benang.org. We will continue our effort to support the underserved communities providing them access and opportunities to realize their full potential.

Our Impact

We have continued to be involved in the skills development and economic improvement initiatives for the underserved communities since 2016. In the past three years, we have enabled 60 women to acquire sewing and tailoring skills. In addition, we have trained the same communities to prepare them for basic entrepreneurship skills. Four key modules are English for Business Communications, Grooming for Success, Basic Customer Service and Basic Financial Management.
